Although most of the country is still very much in winter mode, we have good news: the days are finally getting longer. And many of us are brightening up our days by thinking about where the rest of the year could take us. Your customers may be looking at their calendars and making travel arrangements over the next several months, including those for international trips. You can help them get organized and get coverage before they get going! |
SHORT-TERM COVERAGE OPTIONS |

Fraud, Waste and Abuse: Do You Know How We Protect Your Customers?
At GeoBlue, we’re committed to eliminating unnecessary costs for customers. That’s why we’ve built a dedicated Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) Team to help keep overall insurance rates down for members by identifying misuse of insurance policies. The team provides oversight to help ensure our plans follow laws and regulations and provide members with the highest-quality coverage. |
What types of fraud does the team uncover?
- Claims submitted for services never rendered
- Falsified policy start dates
- Failure to disclose pre-existing conditions
- Claims submitted under fake identities
- Forged or altered provider invoices
Often, our Claims Analysts notice discrepancies or something that just feels “off” and escalate these issues to our FWA Team for further review. Then, the FWA Team may consult with Underwriting. This is only one of the ways our various teams work together to identify fraud, waste and abuse, and we thank them for their dedication to making coverage more affordable for our members! |
