Introducing Globaline™

Best-in-Class Expat Health and Ancillary Insurance in a Single Solution

Globaline(TM) - Photo: Man on an airplane smiling

It’s here! GeoBlue and MetLife Worldwide Benefits have joined forces to deliver Globaline. This comprehensive suite of health, life and long term disability (LTD) products and services is built with expat employees in mind. Globaline is easy to administer and is the only offering in the international health insurance space that includes MetLife’s life, disability and value added services.

Globaline offers a centralized approach with a single point of contact every step of the way—from account servicing to implementation through to enrollment, billing and renewal. It is now easier than ever to administer best-in-class health and ancillary benefits by bringing together the offerings of two global benefits leaders in one single solution. Globaline provides simplicity—without sacrificing quality or expertise—so you and your clients can get the best of both worlds.

New business quotes for Globaline are available now for groups with effective dates starting on or after January 1, 2025. For clients that have GeoBlue coverage today, they can keep their current coverage or opt to transition to Globaline. Either way, there will be no disruption to their existing GeoBlue coverage.

International Travel Coming in HOT This Summer!

Photo of the backs of 4 people sightseeing abroad
Could 2024 be a record-setting year for international travel? It seems possible! By the end of 2023, U.S. international outbound travel reached 10% above pre-pandemic levels, ending the year at 112% compared to pre-pandemic levels.1 Those numbers are expected to rise even higher in 2024—and chances are a lot of that traveling will happen during the upcoming summer travel season.

Help clients and members prepare for international trips this summer with our pre-travel checklist. It’s a simple yet comprehensive list of things they can do to help protect their health and safety before they leave the U.S.

Also keep in mind that there are opportunities for your employer group clients to promote GeoBlue international travel health insurance as a voluntary benefit, which strengthens their overall offerings to their employees. Be sure to share our short-term benefits flyer!

Wes Proctor, Corporate Sales Director for GeoBlue, recently shared the stage with Jodi Downey, Total Rewards Manager of Helmerich & Payne, at the Texas Energy Client Counsel. They discussed the benefits of a Total Blue domestic and international solution and how easy access to healthcare for the globally mobile positions companies and their people for growth. Jodi is not alone in seeing the many benefits of partnering with us on global solutions. In fact, we have a 90% client retention rate and 33% of clients with 7+ years of tenure. This Is What Global Coverage Looks Like: Helping One of Our Own

GeoBlue medical review nurses spend every day helping members connect to the care they need. While traveling in Mexico, one of our own nurses had a medical emergency. The GeoBlue team stepped in to arrange treatment, timely payment and provide peace of mind during a difficult time.

Why it matters: Most people don’t want to think about how a medical event could disrupt their international assignment or trip. That’s why it’s valuable to share stories, like Brian’s, with your clients, members and broker partners.

CareFirst Hosts “Grow With Global Workshop” Led by GeoBlue

On June 3, the CareFirst teams gathered at their Baltimore headquarters for an engaging and interactive workshop focused on growing their business through global opportunities. The workshop brought together leadership, sales and retention teams across all segments as well as underwriting, broker relations, client delivery, specialty product and marketing.

Two workshop sessions led to productive discussion around how opening the door to conversations with clients about global needs can help support sales and retention goals.

The energy and enthusiasm in the room was palpable, and we can’t wait to see where we go from here!

Special thanks to Mallory Kusterer, Linda Gilmore, Pete Stojak and the team at CareFirst for partnering with us on such a worthwhile event.
